Post by 8543bob »

GOOD MORNING, I JUST RECEIVED A SET OF ROD BEARINGS FROM MEMPHIS EQPT. THE BEARINGS I'M USED TO WORKIG WITH HAVE A DULL GREY FINISH. THE ONES FROM MEMPHIS ARE SHINNY, ALMOST CHROME LIKE. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?? THANKS BOB

The difference is you have an old type of bearing that they've had laying on the shelf for years. Honestly, I'm not sure what differences in the material are, but my preference is to use new stock. I like either Clevite or Federal Mogal bearing inserts best.

"Old type?" That's what I'm used to seeing, but then I'm also an "old type." :(
