I got my lockout hubs yesterday and they are beautiful. These are from Dan and are the Warner design.

Definitely great workmanship and I will try to put up a couple of pics late today.

I painted mine to match my truck and so far the paint has held up good.

Another Christmas package! Enjoy! I run the Superwinch lockouts-I know, not as durable, but I got them at a great price from John Bizal a few years back.

Who is this Dan you speak of? Is there a website you can direct me to?

I started to install these last night and discovered how difficult the original hubs are to remove. I must have worked on one for 45 minutes and it's still not off!

I've got to get a puller. It only has to move another 1/4 of an inch and it's off.

Wow.

John,
If you have the stock drive flanges they should practically fall off once the nuts are off and the paper gasket is torn. Odd one should be so hard unless something is amiss? The original flange has two threaded holes to use as puller bolts. Do you have the original flange or somebody else's hubs on there now?

Make sure the hubs aren't cock-eyed and binding up. If not, the puller bolts should free them up. Apply some torque evenly to the puller bolts then rap the hub from the side-that might spring them loose.

John,
As others have spoken about removing the drive flanges, I dont need to add to that, but if you are pulling a lockout hub, make sure the transfer case is in neutral. I fought getting a hub off once until someone told me to put the TC into neutral, it almost fell off then. Otherwise, as prevoiusly stated, there might be something broken or twisted keeping it from coming apart.
Good luck,
Tim

I finally removed the old hub using some longer bolts. The splines seem ok. I now have to remove the studs but they don't look removable. Check out the pics.

I started with two nuts jammed together but the force I'm putting on them trying to turn the stud seems excessive. Is there another way to do this?

Hi John,
Thats the right way to do it. You are probably already doing it but be sure you are wrenching on the lower nut, forcing it against the upper one. If all else fails, and you cant save them, a small pipe wrench will spin them out.
Good luck,
Tim

Thanks Tim.

I haven't finished yet, Bruce. I am putting these on to make it easier to roll the chasis in and out of the garage. My buddy is painting some of the body at his shop but I am still cleaning and fixing on the frame/powertrain.

I'm also still working on the cab.
