M35 rims and tires on a m37

Post by Montanaorbust »

Hello men, there was a man on here, who had machined the 9.00 x 16 wheels on his M37 to fit the 9.00 x 20 off an M35..
So my question is:
Did he weld up the holes on his M35 rims bolt pattern, and redrill to fit the 5 lug?
Or did he blow the whole centers out of both the M37 and M35 rims, and weld up the centers of the M37 to the M35 rims?
Any other ideas?
Lets keep it military though...

I don't know what someone else did, but I would think that cutting out and and replacing the centers would be the most efficent way to do this. My concern would be how the rims back space etc.

That's my $.02 worth.... :)
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

I hate to sound like a sales pitch, but look at the gama goat tires on my website, www.snakeriver4x4.com
If you want 40" tires, the gg's are a lot softer and 11:00 wide.
Ricky in Jackson TN still had a bunch last time I talked to him.
His ph # should be on the web page.

Are you looking for Tom's page?
Simply type wwwdotsnakeriver4x4dotcom into your browser with out spelling the dots! Or you could click on the link provided by Tom in both his responses.
The other gent has been MIA for some time, that would be Bob Kelly, Hammer Down Off Road. Another bloke would be Bryan Sage, out of Colorado, he's done some fabb'ing but stopped. He posts here as well as Steel Solder's Page.
Let us know how you make out?

Bruce, you mentioned HOPS, no, it is malt barley. We harvest 2200 acres of malt barley, when you convert that into barrels of beer, it is propbably enough to make beer for the entire state of Rhode Island.

I was looking for contact info on "Ricky in Tennessee", he mentioned me might have some wheels.

I see snakeriver sells the adapter plates, i can probably have a local machine shop make me a set of plates, $500 just seems pricey to me.

From Snake River's website. Hope this help's.

JACK TOMLIN in Tooele, Utah. He has several acres of the darn things, he can be reached at 435-882-0420. Prices will run $65.00 to $95.00 depending on condition. SMITH & EDWARDS in Ogden, UT say that they still have a semi-trailer load of real nice tires for $90.00 each. Contact Larry Johnson at (801)731-1120. Idaho Motor Pool in Fruitland Idaho carries them from time to time. (208) 452-5335

In the east, call HARRISON MOBILE TIRE SERVICE in Jackson, TN at 731-423-8210, ask for Ricky. RIV-RAD in Summerdale, Alabama still has some very nice tires for $110.00 each. This is as of 3/15/2005. Peter Fitzpatrick in Houlton, ME at 207-532-9035 has 36 nice tires and rims as of March 2006.
