Problem with G741

[M376X6]

I have a DSL at over 1 meg, Most sites download in less than a second. It seems over the last couple of days it is taking 5 to 10 minutes to get anywhere on G741, even to post this message. I've emailed Robi, anybody else having problems with their computer taking a long time and saying Waiting for G741?

I thought I'd try my MSN Explorer, sure enough, Bang, right there, I've had more problems over the years with AOL.

AOL blows. We dumped them a long time ago. Nothing better than that high speed internet.

This may help you figure out if it is just an area brownout, a plug in system somewhere upline, or you may need to tune your box to get better results.

I use a free program for WinderZz called CCleaner, (Crap Cleaner) found via http://www.download.com
Cleans the myriad places that m$' engineers have Winderzz hide things and eventually slow it down internally to a crawl.

IF you elect to use it, make sure you remember all your cookied sites, passwords and private info, as it WILL be erased when cleaned.

CC also has a brute force registry cleaner that will help scrub and clean tons out of winderZz "central traffic cop" of the system.

Also while at download.com look up AdAware 2007 and Spybot Search&Destroy. Both of these are also FREE programs. (Don't be fooled by all the advertising at top of pages, scroll down a bit and find the download areas)

Both of these will help your clean up tons of the pure net bourne crap that does plug performance and puts junk on your box and in your browsers.
