'54 M37 For Sale

Post by Lifer »

As much as I hate to do it, I've got to sell my M37 for health reasons.

Unfortunately, it's in the same condition it was in when I bought it, including the #6 rod poking through the side of the block.

Fortunately, I have a freshly rebuilt T245 engine to go with it, including all the bits and pieces that came off of it (flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, bell housing, intake/exhaust manifolds, civvy carburetor, oil filter housing, etc.) Also included are a number of other parts that were missing when I bought the truck and which I managed to round up from various sources.

The engine was bored .060" over and I had hardened exhaust valve seats installed to preclude problems with unleaded gas.

Body-wise, it's in good shape with only minimal rust under the right headlight and a couple of extra holes in the sheet metal where the city street department who once owned it added a few extra accessories.

I'm asking $3,000 for the whole works.

It really has to go, guys! The wife wants to move back to Illinois, and I can't afford to have it shipped back up there. I'll offer a discount to any forum member who is interested.

If interested, drop me an e-mail at cbriggs@mchsi.com or send me a PM.

The truck is currently in Lavonia, GA (as am I).

It's still available! Price reduced to $2500 for forum members.

The proposed move back to IL has been cancelled since we've finally located a house that the missus deems acceptable, but my health continues to decline, so it really has to go. :(

Lifer if I wasn't knee deep in my 53 project and wasn't so broke I'd grab it from ya. Have you tried ebay? Or maybe this is a sign that you should keep it.... :)
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

I don't trust e-bay. I put it on Craig's List, though. I got 2 legitimate inquiries, both of whom wanted something they could just drive away, and a freakin' TON of SPAM. Just placing one small ad on CL was enough to generate a hundred (seems like) offers of "financial assistance" and offers to pay me $10K over the asking price if I would be kind enough to forward the "change" through a third-party broker. I would much prefer to sell it to someone on the forum. It's way too good to scrap it out!
