little door on the hood

Post by M37DODGE »

Hello every body,

I wish to know the function of the little door, wich is on the hood, very close to the windshield. I have no idea of the function of this door.

Does anybody know it?

Thank you very much indeed

If you are referring to the round opening on the passenger side...it's for the fording tube to get to the air cleaner....
Also handy to run a temporary fuel line from a 5 gallon can to the carb.....

If you are referring to the small door in front of the windshield just behind the hood, its the fresh air cowl vent. There should be a lever under your dash board that is used to operate it.

I think he's talking about the cowl vent (Air conditioner).
William,if you look under the dash where the speedometer is their's a lever if you push this lever forward the cowl vent will open. :D

Hope this helps

Lever...

Post by Dana »

Just FYI, the lever for my cowl vent was (I thought) broken off. It wasn't until later, digging under the dash for some wiring or something did I notice it was bent way back under the dash, so if you don't see it right out there, look up under the dash.

This also had me pondering, "What did they stick in the cab/seat that bent that steel rod half-way back like that?!?" no other damage so I doubt it was from any type of accident or anything!

Hi guys,

thanks all for the quick answers provided. I don´t think it is working because as I said, this track has non original engine neither dash board, so dont think it is going to vent, but Ill ahve a look on weekend looking for the lever.

Thanks again
