repost of 'The Moving Wall'

Post by creinemann »

My son and I just did a ww2 and korean reenactment for the 'Moving Wall' the 1/2 scale traveling Vietnam wall, and we brought everything.... the only SNAFU was, after finally getting my son's 43 Willy's MB done and finished painted and marked, the morning we left for the show, the water pump blew... so it got trailered there.. Son was bummed, but he still took home heaps of praise for how good it looked. I ended up turning over the keys for my truck so he could do the parade and take vets for rides...

Special plug here for Rick Larsen, the paint masks as usual were quickly shipped, and very well made! If you notice on the trailer and all our mil vehicles is the 'Kilroy was here' mask I asked Rick to make up for me. It always draws lots of attention.

A professional photographer took some shots of the show, you can find them here. http://www.ericvidarphotography.com/reenactment/

Thanks for sharing, and supporting the wall. How about some pictures of the son's vehicle.
Rick Larsen is one of the "good guys" in our hobby. Here is his web page:

Jake's Jeep

Post by creinemann »

Here is a link to the photos of the 'final' jeep paint job. Rick's stencils and masks used throughout. Jake bought the jepp when he was 14 1/2.. worked two jobs to pay it off and pay for parts, parts, and more parts.
Now he is 17, and loves taking the jeep everywhere. I should be getting pictures of the jeep from the reenactment, and will post those too.
