Light Winter so far...

Post by Cal_Gary »

Hi guys,
Not too much snow here in Utah; however it's plenty cold so I've not gotten any work in on the M37. I may finally get to purchasing new tubes, flaps and tires for my combat rims that have been patiently waiting for the accessories later this year.

Hope everyone had a great Holiday season!

Hi Gary,

This winter has been on the odd side. Here in WI we've had many a storm pass by to the North and South. I think our total snowfall has only been about 6 inches across 3 storms.
On the other had our TN location has had constant rain and a couple of days ago, 5 inches of snow.
We purchased a new travel trailer to live in onsite, while we build in TN. We have been hauling stuff with us each time we travel down, and been storing it in the pole-barn.

This will be an adventure for the unforeseen future.

Best Regards,
Bert

Well Winter may be finally done. We got a foot and a half of snow last week-now we're looking at 80 degrees this Wednesday so it's time to plan some M37 work (for EVERYBODY!) right? One install planned is the bridge weight classification plate I scored from Jbizal via eBay (thanks John)! Utah also abolished the dumb front license plate requirement, and NO license plate is OK on military vehicles now as long as you can produce one should the local authorities wish to see it. So, I'll be adding and deleting as described then figure out what I wish to tackle after that.

Veronica and I made a dump run last Saturday on a rainy, wet morning. The M37 runs a bit better with more moisture in the air making for a smooth trip over and back, but still 12mph climbing the 10% grade getting home. The AB Linn electric wipers did just fine as well.
More to follow,
Gary

Hi Gary,

This winter I only had to plow my driveway twice. I did shovel the patio about 5 or 6 times. We just had a 75* F day, two days ago and frequent rain which has made the yard very muddy. I've got about 4 large trees that need to be taken down but that will have to wait until the ground dries up. I've yet to take the M37 out for a spin due to salt residue still present on the edges of the roads. I did take the M1009 out for a spin, then had an officer follow me home due to no tail / running lights.......it never ends. The officer was nice enough to follow me, rather than making me get it towed home.

Regards,
Bert

Nice to hear from you Bert!
We've got a storm due here this evening, 6-12 inches here in the Mountains. One last Winter surge I think.

Well we got that half-foot that is melting off quickly. I'll prep and put the blowers away this weekend.

We've not had any more snow, the rain has been every other day, so the ground is now saturated.
