Gearshift Play: 4th

Post by Rdinatal »

Was just wondering...

When in 4th, how much 'side-to-side' movement is in the stick (measured at the top of the gearshift)?
1-2", 3-4", none

Yeah, great technical question.

Some. With a brand new shifter top assembly, it is about 2".
With and old top it can be stirring the witch's cauldron. It works just about anywhere. You just have to get used to it.

Thanks. Mine moves a bit over 2" side to side. Thought that was excessive.

1st-series top covers are the worst. That little anchor pin works loose over time creating all kinds of oddball movement. Charles at M-Series does these repairs regularly.
