Hello everyone,
I went out to drive Fiona today and she wouldn't start. Double checked power to ignition and fuel to carburetor. I have both. I did notice that the last time I drove it I left the ignition switch ON. Will that fry the electronic ignition components or coil?

Yes, leaving the ignition switch on could fry the electronic ignition and/or the coil.
It's unfortunate: Pertronix more recent electronic ignition modules have protection against that built in. That protection is not included in the MV-161A ignition, which is the only model they make that fits our M37 distributors.
I did ask if they would consider releasing an update model with some of the newer features. There answer was that there was not enough volume to justify the engineering to come up with an updated version.

I've heard it will also fry the coil in a points and condenser ignition system. Apparently, it gets too hot in there without the engine running.
I probably would have fried mine by now, but when the engine is off, I can hear the fuel pump running, so I'm reminded to shut off the ignition.

I’ve done that! My Pertronix was fine, coil was bad.
I moved my M37 key to my daily driver keychain and that helps me remember to take the key.
