Noobe air cleaner question

Post by mbwarner »

I recently bought my first M37. It came with only an air cleaner shell, with a rubber seal on top, and a 3 inch, give or take, tube that points generally to the trap door forward of the passenger firewall for the fording snorkel.

My question is, is there a complete oil bath air cleaner that goes inside that thing?

Will I have any luck finding what goes inside, or should I just go find a pleated air filter to fit inside?

Thanks, o you with many answers!

What you have is the fording housing. What you're missing is the oil bath air cleaner, itself. There should be a bunch of them floating around out there somewhere. I don't have an extra one, or it would be yours.

Thanks, Lifer. I'm gonna go to the mvpa show in Portland next week. I ought to be able to find one there.

I got a complete take-out oil bath from John Bizal at Midwest Military. I'll also be going to Portland-hope it's as good as advertised!

Sid has some NOS, heavily wrapped twice, foil fabric & cosmolene. Ask him to bring you one in Portland?

Thanks for the tips, folks. Given that the Portland show is next week, I think I'll see what I can find there.

Nickathome, I'll be in touch if Portland fizzles.
