Hey guys a little hot today so I spent alot of time here. Whats up with the Data plates some being brass and others being Alum? While looking through the Reg. I notice the data plate entry showing options on the truck and how they came. My major data plate, just left of the glove box pic of the truck and dim. is brass and the others are alum. Is that correct or norm?
Thanks Barry

The original was aluminum.
The guy who makes the brass ones has been out for
a couple of years and at last contact has no plans to get new ones.
There was talk a year or so ago about someone doing another run.
I would really like a set of brass ones myself.

I ordered mine thru VPW since they were the only ones I could find that handled them. They came all aluminum and the ones that came with the truck were aluminum as well. I do have a friend that has a complete brass set on his M37, but they were repos. Don't know the answer but wanted to let you know if you go get replacements, you better spec out what you want!
When I got my truck most of the plates were aluminum, however the winch instruction plate and the transmission/transfer/road speed plate were both brass. The truck had gone through the Letterkenny Army Depot's rebuild program in 1968 and the glove box door plates appear to have been changed at that time. No clue what was on it from the factory but the 2 brass ones appear to have been orig. to the truck. Carter
