source for new DOT windshields?
is there a place that makes these or anyone know of a custom place that could make some simple square pieces out of the multilayer glass?
Re: source for new DOT windshields?
There is somebody selling complete windshield assemblies with the seals already installed. I can't recall who it is call Lynn may be Midwest military or VPW? As I recall, the price was reasonable for what is included... though what is included is more than just two pieces of glass.

Re: source for new DOT windshields?
I had mine cut at a local glass shop. Really reasonable since they are simple, flat pieces. Has the appropriate stickers as well.
This was maybe 3 years ago, and they were able to provide the proper rubber gasket as well.
Cheers

Re: source for new DOT windshields?
Yes it’s the correct stuff. I believe it is two layers.
I should have said, it was cut at a local auto glass shop, so I think laminate is the only type they did.

Re: source for new DOT windshields?
cool, i will have to call around locally
Re: source for new DOT windshields?
I bought one and rebuilt one, the glass alone was $40.00 ten years ago (maybe more) I got real lucky buying the new panel, $85.00, unfortunately all the big dealers blew up when there wholesaler was selling them to anyone who was interested, last I heard they were almost $185 to $200.00 each?

Bruce is right-those are the going rates for a new window complete with frame, ready to install.
I had an automotive shop do one door glass for me 15 years ago: $100 and I had done the prep work on the window frame screws....
