My truck came with a CCKW top. I drove it that way for a few years. I took it off one summer and put on a canvas top and have never changed back. It is quieter, quick to take off and has that canvas smell we all like. I drive mine several days a week all year round. The canvas is a little bit more breezy in the winter but, I will put up with that for the tradeoff of easier removal and much higher cool factor.

I've never seen the Arctic top so I'm just fact-finding here in case we move to Montana (yep, might happen in a couple of years)-I might need "the best" hardtop for the harsh Winters. I currently have a CCKW top that needs some screw holes welded up, and a new piece of window glass. I can't see spending a Grand for the VPW top.
Thanks in advance,
Gary
Well the CCKW top was IMHO "forced fitted" to the M37. Where as the Arctic top was made to fit. The arctic top fits around the corners of the cab where as the CCKW top had to be adapted. The CCKW top only has a small circle rear window where as the M37 top has a sliding rectangle window that can slide open for ventilation. The door opening fits the door windows the way they are suppose to on the arctic top.

IMHO the top that was designed for the truck is better than the one that was forced into use.

If I put the arctic top back on my truck I plan on using some sound damping material/insulation and I'm going to cover the inner metal "liner" with some type of vinyl headliner material that will look military but will dampen the sound. Then again I may modify the top to became a slant back like a HMMWV so who knows. I'm a looong loooong way from that... LOL
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

I have an old dry canvas top that I plan on making into a bikini top. Saw it in the M37 group on Facebook.
