Won two drag races with my truck!

For the past several days, I have been out driving around my small city, just to "get the feel" of it, and to put some local miles on my just rebuilt engine and other parts. Not ready to venture out very far. So yesterday, I was near my home, at a stop light, going up a gentle slope, and was in "pole position" next to a beat-up pickup, one running on less than all cylinders. When the light turned green and we both began to accelerate, I quickly pulled ahead of his wheezing, sputtering truck. I won!

And a few minutes later, at another light, I was next to another "beater", we seem to have a lot of dying pick-ups lately in my city, and once again when we started to move, next to one another, just like before, I pulled away from his truck.

I ran a lot of drag races in my former Superformance Cobra so I know how to "stage" for the green light. And my truck just easily pulled ahead of both of the adjacent trucks. Hope to have my 30 cal MG in a few weeks.

Like I tell the young Jap car street racers, it's not all about noise and speed, it is tactics...

I always tell folks it will get you anywhere you want to go, just not quick. While we are on the topic of speed I had this sign made for my rig last week:
