The "baffle" thread was fun, so here's another one. Our truck has 3 identical brackets on the tailgate (2) and in the bed (1). It's been suggested that they may be for a boarding ladder or a map table. Does anyone know for sure? If they are for a table I'd love to replicate one, it would be great when we're camping !

Here's a view where you can see the one in the bed. It's inline with the one on the tailgate, but points in the opposite direction.

The hardware holding them on has been there for quite some time, but as you can see in the photos it's not consistent.
My truck has these clips, but all four are bolted in the bed floor, and closer to the center line of the truck. I had thought that being a fire truck they were for mounting a pump or some other equipment.
