So the weather has finally turned and I'm getting some M37 work done.
Got the RR Axle gasket replaced and sealed, to include tightening two loose studs.
I also pulled the steering box bottom off, cleaning the mating surfaces then applied some of the anaerobic sealer that's been mentioned on this forum, re-attached the bottom plate, let it cure for 36 hours then refilled with GL-5. Happy to report no leaks on either repair, but man that anaerobic sealer isn't cheap!
Still need to replace:
Front & Rear Main seals
Water Pump and Coolant Distribution tube
Alternator pulley
And repair my wobbly tranny shift pin using the techniques described (again in detail on this forum).
Also my steering pitman arm bushing and pin.
More to follow,
Gary

Re: Working Days of Fall...
All that you have listed should keep you busy for quite a while, do you think it can all be accomplished before the snows of late Autumn and Winter halt the work you have outlined?

Re: Working Days of Fall...
Today I pulled the floor pan (after finding out for the first time that the PTO lever must be removed beforehand*) then pulled the tranny top cover so I can repair the floating shifter pin.
*I always had the pan off on the truck prior to adding the winch/PTO.
More to follow as I dig into it,
Gary
P.S. Andy (ASHYERS) I may need to give you a call since you just did yours.

Re: Working Days of Fall...
Gary,
Glad you're back playing with the truck. If there's anything I can do to help give a shout, or just give a shout and we can talk M37's
. We're off to Tower Park next Friday-Sunday. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it's not the last event...

Re: Working Days of Fall...
Today I pulled the shift forks and rails; now figuring out how to get the coiled retaining spring out of the top cone....
