Thought I'd author a new post since it's been a while. Been a hot summer here in Utah-temps over 100 every day, no rain in the past 45 days = no opportunity for much wrenching. I've been able to make a trip or two to work during the overnight hours since I work the Grave shift-even then it's still 75 or 80 degrees. I get under the truck early in the morning in order to keep the fluids topped off. I hope we'll have a few weeks of Fall weather so I can complete a few truck tasks before the snow starts to fall.

So foreign to me to read "too warm and dry to work on my truck" but I absolutely know what you mean. It's been 50-60 here and rain every day for a month straight (almost)

I hear you! I used to live on the central CA coast and it was always cool to damp (when El Nino wasn't dropping tree limbs across my hood)....

It been hot here also, middle 90s and very high humidity. These are not ideal conditions for any type of outdoor activities. One plus is that the grass doesn't grow..........but the weeds still do.

Yep, too hot to work. When I get home the shop is around 98 - 100 degrees in there at 45%+ humidity. If I run fans it will get down to around 92 by 7pm.
Getting up early on Sat and Sun is my only option till the weather breaks. Then I have to knock off by Noon.
This last weekend I spend both mornings replacing the CV axle shafts on my daughters Honda. I hate those 300 foot pound axle nuts!

Re: Dog Days of Summer...
15 days over 110°F in the last 30. No nights/mornings below 90°F. Just slowly pecking away at it. Rebuilt the radiator and reinstalled it. Made a Marine Corps style summer top for the M38. Installed the new brake and fuel lines. Installed the cleaned tank. Installed the correct fuel pump and made all new hard lines for vacuum system. Installed wipers.Rebuilt a new distributor. And drive it around some.
"It may be ugly, but at least it is slow!"

Re: Dog Days of Summer...
My Son contacted me. He replaced his aging AC unit with a new one. It is an outside AC / Gas Pack unit. He has been trying to sell the old one on Craigs List but everyone that calls wants him to install it.
So he said we could drag it over to my place to use. I am not sure I want to cut a hole in the outside wall of the building to cool the shop though since it is an old unit. I was thinking one day of having an AC with the compressor outside and the rest inside.
He says we can just put it in front of one of the roll up doors and shoot the cold air inside, run it off of your welder connection.
