Governor Adjustment Tool

Post by DenisM »

Anybody have the special tool to adjust the governor. If so, would you please post or e-mail me some dimensions as I must make one. My governor needs a slight adjustment.

Thanks

One can be made from a deep socket and a thin flat-tip screwdriver. I used a 3/8" deep socket that I could fit a flat-tip screwdriver through the 1/4" drive end. I filed down about 1/32" from the socket end leaving two teeth to engage the governor's adjusting nut. The other end, the 1/4" drive end, is filed around it so a 7/16" wrench would fit. Worked well.

This is what it looks like:

Storm (52 M-42) was selling some of those adjuster tools at one time, but I don't know if he still has any available. You could PM him: http://www.g741.org/PHPBB/memberlist.ph ... ile&u=1169

If he doesn't have any left, I might have one in my toolbox and could measure it for you (if I can find it  ).

Thanks for the help. I decided to make one via trial and error. Finally got it to work OK.
