new regulator from vintage power wagon???? somethings wrong
plugs in good mounts good... when i try to put on my battery cable on it makes the generator hum and it may be turning ( not sure).. i just dab the cable on i don't leave it on there cause it sparks bad.... any advise.. anybody have this issue before. 195 for this solid state regulator

let me see if I got this
how do you know the genny was not charging after the wash ? did you put a volt meter to the batters ? how many volts are there ? is the wire good? did you check the three leads for continuity ? is there any short to grounds ? is the generator full of water ?
what is the state of your wiring harness ?
it is easier for us to help if we know your truck. have you thought about making a build thread in the builders blog section? post some pick and history of your truck. have it all in one place.
and remember kids its so easy its hard

well i have another truck and took the regulator from that one and it charges...then i put the solid state one on and it does not charge...

i got called that from working in a truck junkyard for 12 years.. best job i ever had... took its toll on the body though.. you tend to feel what you did at 20 when you get 50
