What's the deal with the fan shroud, though? I've never seen an M37 with a shrouded fan. Is it a custom fabrication? If so, it's a darned nice job!

Looks just like mine.

O.K. I mean the fan shroud, except his isn't bent up, or rusty, or shedding several of its 13 coats of paint.

Maybe you just haven't noticed them before, but I think its original.

Nice looking truck.

Lifer, if you want a nos fan shroud call Pete MICHAELS, AT 630-232- 6619, he has a bunch, should charge around 20.00, he is some times hard to get , call around 830= 930 est. also let phone ring a long time he may be in his shop working.

Lifer, I talked to pete today, he told me that he sold all the shrouds to sid beck in victoria tx. so call sid maybee he has one left.

The shroud is a royal PIA to deal with so I can see why depots pitched them. We've had ours off/on at least a half a dozen times - to the point where Zac and I flip a coin - loser installs the shroud. The skin should be back on my knuckles by August. You have to sneak your hand in to access the 4 fan bolts blind. Pull the bolts, fan, spacer, and pully. Of course the fan has to be snaked out because of the clearance. Then you pull the hoses and 6 rad bolts. Then you lift the rad/shroud together up about 1/3 the way where you then have to sneak the shroud out around the water pump shaft and off the upper rad gooseneck, all while holding onto the rad in mid air. A few simple changes to allow the shroud to lift clear would have been a great idea back in the '40's.

Phew, I feel better now. What was the question?
