Side window gaps

Post by Pyro joe »

I have a new(to me)53 m. It has a hardtop on it by midwest military. There is a gap around the window about an inch. The window has no support when up. The door looks like it had a bracket cut off that maybe supported it. I have looked through the forum and found nothing. I can't seem to find pictures of any with window frames. Anyone help me out with this. I dont want unstable windows breaking on my emma.

So, you don't have the weatherstrips or the retainers on the top?

Give MWM a call. There should be rubber weather stripping held by metal pieces around the window, same as on the soft top frame. MWM will have them in stock.

the window felts in the doors add a lot of stability if these are worn the windows will flop regardless of the cab to window seals. sometimes the window felt channels become lose and the bracket flops around inside the door. surprisingly the little felt squeegees at the the top of the door also add rigidity to the windows. we modified a few window channels with some sprung Teflon strips and countersunk screws. works great zero window flop but a little hard to roll up.

There's a welded piece at the top rear of the doors. It causes it appear as if the door has been modified, but that's how they came.
