Cab rope hooks

Post by just me »

How many hooks are on the back of your cab? I removed my hardtop and traded it for a soft top. When I look in the TM, there are more rope hooks than are on my truck. The two on either side were missing and I replaced them. But there are only 3 on the back of my cab and no evidence that there ever were any more. Pic shows at least 5 in the manual. The debossed areas on the cab back where hooks would mount have never been drilled for them.

I looked at the tops of windshields of the trucks with canvas. Never occurred to me to look at the rope hooks! I did make a deal with someone from the show for the swap and got rid of my hard top. I'm glad my truck had one when I got it. That way, I didn't have to lust for one and then realize I didn't want it in the end!

The older trucks had more loops for top tie downs, the later ones had fewer.

Greg:
Pic's sent to your email of the rope hooks on my truck.

As you know, it's a MAJOR hassle to post pics on g741 without first downloading them
to an account like Flicker or some such.

Note to Moderators: Can't you guys figure out an easier way for all of us to post pics
directly from our computers, I-phones and I-pads ??

Thanks for the pics, Jerry! I think I will split the difference between your 9 and my 5 and add two in those indents at the rear of the cab corners to help keep the corners down.

Hi Jerry,
There IS an easier way! just underneath the text box to write a reply, find the two blue/gray tabs. one says "options" and the other says "upload attachment".
click the "upload attachment" tab and i think you'll see where to go from there! Just like attaching a photo to an email. I think it's a fairly new option, because i never saw it until a couple of weeks ago, but maybe i just wasn't looking.

P.S. it does work from iPhone and iPad as well, most of the pics of my manifold build were uploaded directly from my iPhone and attached as attachments.

Got to the "add a file" in my photo library but message in red says: File too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB."
Now what?

There are a few ways to do it; unfortunately, as far as i know, Apple doesn't offer a really simple, easy way to re-size a photo. For me, often the easiest is to email it to myself via my phone, and when it asks what size you want to send the attachments, choose the "medium" size. Download and save the new photos you've just sent yourself, and viola, you have photos that can be posted on here without exceeding the maximum image size. There are other apps that let you re-size photos in your iPhone album, but I haven't found one that is simple enough to make me happy with it.

Here's pics of the rope hooks from my '53 M37.

The following is the merry-go-round to post. Sent pic from IPad to IPhone, then
from IPhone, sent the reduced size pic to my email at 125 KB. Opened email
and "saved" pic.
Posted "saved" pic to this post.

I'm out of breath..........
