Re: Lot of Talk about Batteries.......
I have run for years on my M37's two Interstate batteries that I get from the Interstae Battery Store.
I purposely ask for batteries that are "seconds" or "returns". They are CHEAP! Run about
$40. These batteries are returned to the store when buyer claims the battery is bad. It's always
a bad charging system.... not the battery.
Interstate says that while they only have a 30 day warranty on these, a bad battery will show
up within that time and will be replaced. They load test them before you buy. I have
never had a bad one and they last for years around here, even in the extreme Arizona
summer heat. I have bought more than a dozen or so and never had a bad one.
Bring an old battery into the store for exchange and no core charge.
As I've said in previous posts, I'd bet most battery stores have the same problem with people
returning good batteries when it's a charging/alternator/generator problem. The store has
no other choice than to re-sell the returned battery at a fraction of the original price. Check with your local
battery stores... You might be surprised at the money you save.
