Re-wiring Works!

Zac finished the new wiring and completed all the pre-checks.

Starting at the top of the photo are the new composite rear lamps and 2 LED back up lamps.

Next is a LED rear cargo lamp laying next to the batts which we plan on putting in the round hole on the bulkhead of the pickup box.

The twist of wires in front of the batts is the turn signal connection that will bolt to the glovebox - notice the 3 prong 24v standard flasher with the red wires?

To the right of the batts are the new cluster, ign sw, light sw, turn lever, push/pull sw for cargo light, p/p sw back-ups, p/p wiper sw, ign key, and dimmer sw.

The new C/Bs are mounted to the vent bracket(see below).

The rest is the fowward light harness RH and LH, along with the engine harness for horn/oil/temp.

It was alot of fun and we appreciate Charles helping us figure that turn signal relay!

wow that is great. What is the big resistor for in the circut breaker pic?
Did you guys make the harness or use nos or modify an old one? I got a harness from Sid Beck but have been waiting to put it in partly because I know when I touch my old one that there will be no turning back as it will just begin to crumble away. Did you stick with wire numbers or go with a color code? or both? It's very cool to see the whole thing laid out on the floor nice job. :D

That resistor is for the heater blower motor, so it has a low speed setting.

We used Sid's forward harness and added additional ground wires to everything and taped them over his harness. We peeled back the engine harness to group the temp/oil psi/temp into one strand away from the horn as a personal preference. The rear we ended up doing ourselves because we added backup lights, a cargo box light and an interior light. We numbered everything using automotive tags with Sid's color'd harness. The hardest part was pushing the pins out of the cannon connector. We used packard connectors and crimped/soldered everything. We sealed everything with liquid tape as well. Was not a hard job but you have to keep track of everything.

Ok a big resistor for the heater thanks Charles. Knattrass your harness is very cool. I hope when I get started on mine it will come out somewhere near what yours is.
