Multi fuel heater
Last summer I picked up a nice multi-fuel heater at the Iola, WI. swap meet.
Complete with control box and cables. It last ran on diesel fuel. 24 volt.
I've tried to fire it but no luck. Fuel pump and fan/blower both work.
It just won't fire. Fuel filter is clear.
I'm scared that I have a potential bomb in the making based on the excess
diesel fuel that comes out of the burner when I tip the unit on end.
I'm needing a TM or manual to trouble shoot and also any advice on
how to proceed.
Here's info on the data plate:
Heater, vehicular compartment multifuel burning
Stewart Warner- Southwest Corp.
Model: ojkhi-10530b 30,000 BTU 24V
NSN: 2540-01-194-3323
Part #: 19207socn11669898
I've googled the NSN and part number. Seems to be a heater for a Hummer.
Any help or advice much appreciated.

Re: Multi fuel heater
Hi Jerry,
Are you going to the Fruitland meet? If not, I'll watch for a TM for your heater.

Gary:
No, not going to Fruitland. A TM or other manuals would be helpful.
If you find any, please buy them for me.
The NSN seems to indicate that the heater is for a HUMM V.
Although I think all the late model multi-fuel heaters by SouthWest
are basically the same operating principles.
Thks,

Re: Multi fuel heater
I know... spring is here and few of you guys have any interest in heaters this time of year.
But I'm hoping someone on this forum has some knowledge of multi-fuel heaters that
can help me fire up my heater without a bon fire incident I would really appreciate
any info. and/or your input.
Now is the time to prepare for winter............

Re: Multi fuel heater
Jerry, I'll look through my manuals and see if any of them are for a South Wind.
Edit: Found a manual for 10560 series, might be useful as most of Stewart Warner Corp. heaters operate much the same way, If you think it will be useful it is yours for the postage.

Carter:
I agree. Southwind gas heaters all pretty much operate the same. Years ago I did several of them on VW bugs
and buses.
I'll take you up on your offer for the manual.

Re: Multi fuel heater
I will send one of the manuals out tomorrow Jerry
I also have maintained several of them in the past, had a couple of M37 with them on the fender as part of the winterization kit and found when the get carbon fouled the heat stops and it is maintenance time.

Re: Multi fuel heater
Thanks for doing that Carter.
I'll post my findings and hopefully I can get the heater fired.
