We were invited to attend the Delta-Cardiff's Fireman's Parade and we lined up for hours waiting for the parade to start in temperatures that were in the upper 80's. and the cab interior temp. reached 102. Trying to start the truck after such a long time we had a fuel system vapor lock but luckily we had good batteries and it did finally start just in time to maintain our position in the parade. Other than that we had no problems and we received lots of waves, thumbs up and positive comments from the crowd.
The crowd was very quiet as the parade lined up for the start.

The above are the shots Sandy took while I was slowly melting.
For a town above the Mason-Dixon line the Stars and Bars were frequently displayed on private parade vehicles with no negative reaction from watchers or Judges, no one seemed to care.

Thanks guys, but these trucks seem to demand owner attention, one minute all's well and the next it is calling your name like a sick child in the night. Mine looks good but it is still sick. Leaking oil will have to be stopped and it's again time to rotate the tires. Always needy but wonderfully attractive in a no nonsense sort of way and that's why we put up with all that attention demand.
My truck was very sick when I started the resto. project:

You have done and amazing job. its also nice to see how each guy does his markings and things on his truck. I like how they are all a bit diff, like they should be.
