More response to the gas pedal...
I've mentioned running errands in my truck then chugging home at 10MPH in 2nd gear up the 10% grades that exist in the Wasatch mountains. Anyway, since I've been doing some maintenance the past couple of days I decided to enrich the fuel mixture a bit, turning out the mixture screw a half-turn. Driving around the neighborhood today testing my brake adjustments, I could feel a noticeable increase in the throttle response even though I didn't take it down the hill and back up. I'll post a follow up once I make the long run....

Re: More response to the gas pedal...
Gary,
I'd sure like to talk a few guys into bringing their trucks to Durango Co. for a few days of AWESOME M37 Sight Seeing! One such run is a day trip to "The Notch" just outside of Durango. Once at the notch, you can look right down on town from 12000 feet. The notch was cut into the LaPlata Mountain ridge line to bring ore wagons over. That will be my first test after I get my 51 running this summer. It is a beautiful spot for an M37 Photo Shoot!
I'd sure be pleased to host anyone who might like to join me??
Dana
PS The road going up is rocky, and is good to limber up the old stiff springs. It is not an extremely difficult road.

GREAT IDEA! I can not do the Durango trip this summer but could plan for it next year. Send some pics when you make the run. Maybe with a trip target date some of the other members might make a plan also.

Re: More response to the gas pedal...
I just can't imagine driving across the low and high deserts at 42mph 12 hours to get there! Once there, it would be wonderful. (Used to live in Durango)
"It may be ugly, but at least it is slow!"
Re: More response to the gas pedal...
You know they usually show Durango on the weather maps here-doesn't look too far away, but like Don said, next year would be better for me too. I'm headed to Topeka next week, might hit the 1st ever HMV show in Dillon, Montana this September (copy that, Don?) and the MVPA National next year (August) is in Pleasanton, CA. Add that I hope to do my frame-off next May so I'll have to assess everything then let you know, Dana.
Don't misunderstand-I love the idea; part of next week's trip will be a 14 mile off-road climb up to the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range and I'm going to run the Go-Pro on that sucker, even though we'll be in the Boss' Jeep Rubicon. I'll get a bunch of pictures of Bert and me at Topeka as well as the vehicles!
More to follow (I'll use a separate thread),

Re: More response to the gas pedal...
I'd love to join you in Durango. Problem is I don't have a big tow vehicle and a flat bed trailer. I have to stay local and drive to the mountains
Re: More response to the gas pedal...
Don, PM sent about Dillon.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: More response to the gas pedal...
Great comments & thanks for the interest in visiting the Durango area! I do not want to get this posting side tracked, so I'll start a new thread on the General forum, and see what interest there might be for next summer.
