I also bought some OD clothing, mostly to guard against the nasty weather.

A good trip overall. I think it may not haved up to the legends of past days, probably due to the weather. Some vendors only stayed a little while on Thursday and then left. Others stayed but never came back in Friday, perhaps they were there Saturday.

Some seem to think that the fuel situation is beginning to slowly kill these events, especially for long distance participants. It took me and my three buddies 14 hours to get there. I still have saddle sores today!

The most expensive parts were the windshield inserts and I knew that was gonna hurt. I got them for $160 each so I did save a little.

The whole saving money angle suffers a bit when you factor in travel and hotel costs, so it's mainly about having fun hunting for stuff.

I bought a gortex rain coat, Japanese bayonet, five .50 cal shells, one 20mm shell, carry strap for my airsoft M249 and that was about it. Really didnt need anything for my M37, other than the rubber grommet that fits around the steering column under the front of the dash.

I was tempted by the airsoft M60 and the airsoft M1 Garand, but clear heads prevailed. It was an enjoyable show despite the rain. Lots of diverse offerings. Saw a guy buy two m37 front fenders, a door, headlights and a ton of other parts for a project m37. I bet he will be busy for a while...

I bought a tire and wheel as my spare from some guy that Cabel Garbee knows. The tire is shot but I have a good one to swap out. I bought it for the wheel anyway. Also bought a compete set of reflectors. Got one of the splash guards for $5.00 at the auction on Saturday(might not be what its called), it mounts on either side of the engine compartment near the fenders. Some other guy bought the other 2 for $15.00. I don't need the thing I just figured I'd get it to put on the shelf in case someone else needs one later, plus the money went to a good cause.

Most of my money went to the kids this year. They each got a glow in the dark German fireman's helmet, a Vietnam style hand grenade, and a cool set of dog tags from that guy that had the cool little field office on the trailer.

I did see a bed mounted spare holder but the guy wanted $140.00 for it. Way to rich for my blood, but somebody musta bought it, because it was gone when I went back on Saturday.

The weather sucked royal but I still had a good time. It let up on Saturday just at the right time.

Regarding your "WWII" cot (without end pieces), we were still using them in the '90s! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they aren't still in use somewhere. It's hard to improve on "perfection," after all.

There's a gun show here this weekend and a small chance there will be cot parts or whole cots. I could have bought one end piece at Aberdeen but my buddy talked me out of it (oh no, you should get two, not just one...), grrrrr. I could have used the one as a pattern.

My cot is dated 1945 so it is a WWII cot. I wish I hadn't let my impulse override my wallet. It was only $25, after all.

If I am not careful, I'll be collecting WWII stuff. My next goal for a vehicle is a WWII Jeep or WC so go figure.

Rain ended ~10:30. Odd to have a Women's conference and MV show at the same place:)

I got: NOS M37 cargo strap, web belt, 30/50 ammo tray, Govt Liq. hats, poster, and misc electrical connectors.

I most enjoyed seeing the M29 Weasel owner demonstrate the strength of the Liberty Resource replacement tracks. They were works of art!
