M-37 Parts for Sale or Trade

Post by 52 M-42 »

Over the last 33 years that I have had my truck, I've accumulated a LOT of various parts and excess bits and pieces for these trucks. I'm getting tired of providing a free home for this stuff and I'm certainly tired of tripping over it all the time. Also, since the truck has been through its second restoration recently, I probably won't be doing it again (I'm over 60, just like the truck, but it is now in much better shape than I am and will outlive me for sure).

So; here is a bunch of stuff I need to get rid of. Some of it I have priced. Some of it you can make offers on. All shipping is your responsibility. I live in Washington State, the zip code is 98028. Of course, being victim of the O.D.green truck dementia I'm always interested in trading (my wife worries that I will end up with more stuff than I get rid of - she speaks from experience, so it is hard to argue with her).

I've tried to put some pictures with the items. Not all have pictures, but I will take some if you like. I'll try to keep this list up to date.

Bed Mounted Spare Tire Carrier: w/ 3 Prong Bolt & Plate. Painted 24087 like new. $225

USMC Lifting Brackets: I have 2 sets, no lifting shackles. I also make these, so you can either buy these or I will make new ones at the same price. $300 set

Tool Box Drawers for the forward edge of the bed: These drawers fit inside the opening. They are made from 16 ga mild steel. $300 a set ( 2 ea - 1 for each side).

Primer Pump Kits and Parts: I've got 3 complete pumps and lots of nozzles, tubing and other fittings. Price will depend on what you want.

Cylinder Heads: I have 4 of these. They are take offs. Don't know if anyone ever needs these. If you are interested, let me know.

Engine Starter Hand Crank: These work with NON WINCH TRUCKS ONLY. I've never used it (Thank God!) My truck has a winch so I'll never need it. $75

Hood Handle: Brand new Hood Handle (painted 24087) with nuts and washers. $25

Water Pump / Radiator Tube: Take off $20

Oil Bath Air Cleaner: I have about 6 of these all take offs. You'll need to clean them up, but all the pieces are there, no torn screens, etc. These are the Carburetor Air cleaners - NOT THE FORDING SHROUD. $60 to $90.

Oil Filter Housings: I think I have at least 6 of these. Some have brackets and hoses and some don't. $40 to $60.

24 VDC Generator Cores: These are take offs. I have two of these. 1 may be rebuilt internally. 1 has a pulley and 1 doesn't. $90 ea

Voltage Regulator Cores: These are take offs. I have a bunch of these. They may have worked when they were removed, but that was a long time ago. There is a place in Los Angeles that tests and rebuilds these. Let me know if you are interested.

Voltage Regulator Ground Strap: Got a couple of these. Take offs.

Voltage Regulator Rubber Mounts: I think I have 6 of these. They look new.

Voltage Regulator Mounting Bracket: I've got 1 maybe 2 of these. they are take outs.

Battery Box Grommets & Retainers: I've got a few of these. they are take outs. Condition varies.

Slave Receptacles and Parts: I've got a few complete ones and lots of parts. Let me know what you might need or want.

Windshield Hinge / Wiper Motor Mount: I've got 2 of these. They look to be unused.

Long single piece vacuum line: This is the piece over the windshield. It looks to be very good (no holes or kinks, bends, etc) but is a take out.

Tail Pipe Extension: I've got one. It is new. $15

New Single Pipe Exhaust (from manifold to muffler): $75

New Top Pipe of 2 Piece Exhaust (manifold to muffler): New type without swing bolts. $30

Used (rusty) 2 piece exhaust (manifold to muffler): New type without swing bolts. $50

Trailer Receptacle Cover - Spring Loaded: 1 of these.

Misc Heater parts: I have lots of fuel fired heater burner parts. I need the pieces that go under the hood of the M-37 / 42. If you have any to sell or trade let me know. I can send you an exploded diagram of all the parts and I have the manuals. Please let me know what you are looking for and what you have to get rid of.

B.O. Tail Lights and Front Marker Lights: I have a bunch of these. Most will need to be rebuilt electrically. I have both 2 wire and 3 wire types.

Complete Deuce Winterization Fuel-Fired Heater Kits: new in the original crates. NSN 2540-570-1356. Includes winterfront and all mounting hardware. $750

M-105 Brake Cable: I have one of these and it is a take off.

There is other stuff, but this is the first batch that is currently under foot and blocking the shelves. I'll dig out more as I go.

Thanks! :D

Got it this morning.

I'll look for the various canvas pieces this weekend, and let you know what I have.

Since 52 M-42 no longer has one available, I have a takeoff that would need to be cleaned and painted if your interested. Send me a pm.

Hi,
Looking for hood handle, winterization kit, fording kit (at least the exhaust)
and the question: the winterization kit can provide heat to the cargo area for the troops??

Theo, if you can't find a hood handle, instructions for fabricating one can be found in PS Magazine, Issue No. 45, page 47: http://dig.library.vcu.edu/cdm/pageflip ... 2/mode/2up

If by "winterization kit" you mean the arctic engine kit, then no, heat for the cargo area is not included. There is a separate (and rare) kit that insulated the cargo area and included a heater for troops.

Hello. I know your posting was a while ago, but is the engine hand crank still available? If so, could you send me a PM?

Thanks
