When I bought my M37 it was missing its throttle cable. Does anyone have a picture of how its routed under the hood and to where?
And when its cold out, in the 30's temp wise outside, is it normal to see your temp gauge barely move in the trucks when you drive it? Mine reads 130-150 or so if im reading it correctly.

Re: Picture of Throttle Cable? And Temp Question
There is no throttle "cable" It uses a steel rod linkage with bellcranks.
The usual thermostat is a 160 degree job, so the lower engine temps are what you get in really cold weather. Block off part of the radiator with cardboard for a cozier ride.

I'm guessing you want info on the fording throttle cable, and not the foot actuated linkage system? If I have some time I will get a pic later today

The hand throttle is a cable routed to the carburetor accelerator linkage. You'll see it ZGjethro photos.carolinamv wrote:When I bought my M37 it was missing its throttle cable. Does anyone have a picture of how its routed under the hood and to where?

There is a winter grill cover that you might want to look for. There are photos of it over on http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/ which you might find interesting or helpful. He has a wealth of information about M-37's on his site.
The grill covers work really well for raising your engine temperature on cold winter days.

Here ya go Jay. The throttle cable is the one coming from the firewall looping over the cylinder head. Second pic is a closeup of how it hooks to carb.

Re: Picture of Throttle Cable? And Temp Question
In Bobs photo, the throttle cable is to the right of the choke cable where they exit the firewall. On my truck they are reversed. Bob's photo is of the Choke connection. The throttle cable goes behind the carb and ends on a bracket behind the PVC valve. Then the cable connects to the last throttle linkage. I'm having cell phone connectivity issues and cannot take any more pics until I make more space in the memory.
