Yup....we talked about this one a few weeks ago when it first appeared on EPay. I posted a pic of the original sales flyer. Just search wittenberg and it will pop right up.

that it is, you can actually reach the sparkplugs without having to crawl across the fender Nice easy access to everything, I'm guessing that is why they did it (I doubt the lightweight and easy repairs were something they considered). One of the 2 other wittenberg trucks I was able to turn up was a big 2.5 ton GMC and it had a very similar clip. I'm guessing they saw the access advantages on conventional cab tractors and did it on the M37/M43 like the big trucks.

I'd consider doing a tilt front as well, having had my front clip off last year made everything so accessible, it spoiled me a bit....

It would not be impossible to do some fab work and use the standard truck components to build an "almost" original looking front end as a tilt top, better access to components and engine while keeping the look and strength of the original body.
It'd look really cool on a 4 door conversion CamoyJ7 (hint, hint LOL).

I was just teasing, I think your project is quite large enough but I think if somebody put their mind to it a flip front from original parts is a workable idea.....
