POWER TAKEOFF

Post by ELBUFO »

I was cruising the local junkyard yesterday and found an old dodge dump bed truck. It has a spitfire engine and a NP tranny. Here is the question... Will the power takeoff on the NP tranny fit the old style 52 vintage tranny???
My transmission is in good shape and the condition of the NP is dubious. I will add that the power takeoff is running a hydrolic pump. My grand plan is to put a winch on my M, so here is a critical part for dirt cheap. Will it work...John

I have no idea, actually, but it would very likely help those who might be able to answer your question if you mentioned what model of NP tranny is in the donor-to-be. It's my understanding that there are different PTO units and different trannys. Some will interchange. Others will not.
