Fuel pump pressure?

Post by Gerry »

I am getting around 3 psi out of my pump. Is this a little low?
Thanks,
Gerry

The specs I was shooting for was an ideal of 4psi, not to exceed 6.5psi. We did not suspect a problem with ours because the engine ran fine. Because we had the FelPro gasket kit, we took the pump off for a visual and to paint it only. We laid it on the bench and came back to see motor oil leaking from the pump. Sent the pump to Tony at Then&Now for rebuild $95 plus s&h. Looks new, runs new.

I am trying to fire up my truck for the first time after buying her. She sat for 4 years. I have spark so I am trying to rule out pump or carb. Do you have the info to contact Tony. He is a lot cheaper than buying a rebuilt pump.
Thanks,
Gerry

knattrass,
I found Then & Now on line. Pump will be on its way later today. Next step will probably be to send Carb out.
Thanks,
Gerry
