Cheap surplus side mirrors
Sportsman's Guide has milsurp side mirrors for the Coyote for sale rather inexpensively. Look good and similar to the side Hummvee mirrors previously discussed. Should look good on my M37.
Here is the link, i ordered 2. 24.99 each.

I'd just settle for a promotion.Juan wrote:Where's the like button in this forum?
Promotions around here are just about as slow as real life in the Army back in the 1980's.

Re: Cheap surplus side mirrors
The mirrors arrived today, a day ahead of schedule. Darn things are MUCH better than what you see in the pics! Brand new, still had that protective plastic cover on the glass. Painted desert sand, easy enough to fix with a rattle can.
I think the design fits the vintage look of the M37 much better than the M988 mirrors. I'll mock one up on the M37 tomorrow and take a couple pictures so ya'll can see. Really, these were the deal of the year when it comes to parts for the truck.

OK, went and did a little work on the truck. Took off the old civvy rusty chrome mirrors..

held up one of the new mirrors, and "crap" the bracket is too long!

Experimented with the brackets and what not. Still going to have to shorten the brackets, but should be doable. Will be mounting the mirror on the bracket like this:

Re: Cheap surplus side mirrors
Interestingly enough, all the hardware on these was SAE and not metric. Odd.

Re: Cheap surplus side mirrors
I got similar mirrors a looooong time ago, I had to dismantle them and take a section out of the frame to make it fit on the windscreen pillar THEN I had to dismantle the mirror and cut the c section and glass to size then reassemble and fit the lot (looks like you won't have to fiddle the body and glass of the mirror), bear in mind you MUST have door limiters in place as if you swing the door open with the window up you will hit the mirror assembly with the window.
I am very happy with my West-coaster mirrors, good visibility behind, just be aware of the dead area of visibility behind them, once used to them though they are an excellent improvement on the stock mirrors.

And that's why I said that, because I had a feeling looking at them and seeing what vehicle the were off of I thought they might be to big for the truck. Get your pipe cutter and welder out and you should be good to go. It looks like you should be able to cut the center out of the C arm and remount the mirror to fit.k8icu wrote:I'll be interested to see how they fit on your truck.
