T245 vs T245A Motor

Post by mike_l »

Hey guys,

My truck has a motor marked T245A-... which I thought nothing of until recently when I got a rebuild core and it is stamped T245. So, my question is what is the difference and when did they start using the 'A engines? I looked through the manuals but did find anything. The T245A has a 67 on the left side under the distributor and the T245 has a 50 which I figured were the manufacture years.

The T245A is a M37B1 engine, don't know of any differences just produced for the later series trucks.
