Wanted 1 piece rims!

Post by anonymous_1 »

I would like to buy 4 stock appearing one piece rims for my M37! But who doesn't? But seriously, I'm new to my Wagon and I'm looking to get rid of the split rims for ease of use. I currently have 4 split rims on the truck, and 4 extra split rims also. I'm waiting to install my bald Michelin 11x16s until I figure out something for rims. I'm also in the hunt for some Michelin 11x16s with better tread than I have. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks everyone, I'm really enjoying this forum!

With 16" tires your options are limited in design. You would need to find a shop like MRW (http://www.mrt-wheels.com/) or others who can take a Budd Wheel center and weld it into a modern tubeless wheel. However, you will be limited to 7" or less in back spacing, meaning the wheel/tire will extend outboard of the trucks fenders if they are wider than the stock 900x16's.

A Note, measure the diameter of the split ring on a Budd Wheel, and the diameter of a 16" and 17" tub, mess wheel. You will find from an appearance stand point the 17" wheels will better match the center wheel look of the Budd Wheel than a 16", and you have a lot more backspacing options and tire choices.

The 1100x16's are nice, and fit the stock Budd Wheels great, but the tires are scarce, and getting very expensive.

Good luck,
Will
Thanks,

Thank you Watson. They don't have to be dead on the same, I just don't want something that doesn't look like it belongs. Haha, yes I'm realizing that the 11x16s are rare and expensive, but I can't hardly find 9x16s either.

Wow! Ask and you shall receive. Thank you guys!
Watson, you were talking about the 17" wheels. If I switch to those will I be able to find military tread tires that will fit? I guess I'm confused about tire fitment if I make the switch.

I'm no expert, but I've seen NDT's in 16" and 20" (and some smaller sizes), but not any 17".

17" rims give you more tire options, just not military tires, sorry.
Thanks,
