The trailer hitch for the trailer hitch?

Quick Update.
The trailer hitch for the trailer hitch (yes, that’s what I meant to say) is finished.
The tube that slides into the receiver in the rear of the big red trailer is double wall =1/2” thick.
Every other tube is 1/4” thick. Gussets are 1/4”. The flat bar the pintle hitch mounts to is 3/4” plate. All hardware is 8-grade.
The “pintle mount” is pinned to the trailer receiver tube along with being shackled.
The only thing I might do different when hauling the M-37 on the red trailer and pulling the cargo wagon
is to use 2 separate ratchet straps from the D-ring forward to the red trailer? Anyway, have trailers will travel!
PS, should have taken the pictures on the concrete when it was sitting level! “duh”

Nice work. Will you tow both the red trailer and the 3/4t trailer? I know that there are places you could road that combination, but not in British Columbia. The Aussie Road Trains were the biggest I've ever seen and getting passed by a 5 trailer lash up at 70mph is a pretty interesting experience, especially driving on the wrong side of the road!

Hello Jess & Crew.
Yes, I will pull the M-101 behind the big red trailer hauling the M-37.
It is legal in Iowa and several surrounding states.
Hope to get a better picture soon!

Its legal to double haul in Alberta and Saskatchewan as well, provided the trailer attached to the truck is a 5th wheel...

Interesting setup Tim. I'd be concerned with the leverage, but in reality, its probably more a concern dropping it on your toes when taking it off the trailer...

As to the "leverage" concern Master Yota I plan on running 2 separate ratchet straps forward to the trailer side rails.
(I took a picture with 1 strap but will use 2 on the road)
As to dropping it on my foot? I'll let my Lori install and remove it!
(We also have several states where the first towed unit must be 5th hitch)

That's impressive, Tim! Just wondering out loud-could you attach/weld a bar from each ramp pointing to the center base with an eyelet and lock for some extra stability? As you tow, the bars would add support to the vertical arm, reducing any backward flexing. Unlock, then fold each ramp down and the bar would just flip down with each ramp.... Not saying you need it, was just a thought.

When I get in off the road next week I hope to get a shot of the truck loaded,
trailer hooked to the dually and the cargo wagon tagging along behind.
Need to find out the overall length.
