I was wondering if anyone can help with this data plate. It was mounted to the frame on the driver's side in front of the area where the rear wheel is located. Here is some of the info on the Plate:
Handling Unit GM Equip Trk MTD
WT.=5953 LBS
FSN=1450-967-9740
MFD BY=Martin Co.
Cont. No.=DA-01-009-AMC-12-Z
Army Missile Command
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you tell a little about the truck? Dunno if any members on here are familiar with or have one, but my suspicion would be that the truck was an m506. Martin co prob made the rigging mods to the m37 to covert it and put the plate on.
Re: Data Plate found on frame-back driver's side
Main data plate mounted on the glove box door shows: M37 B1 WW, Model T245.
I think you are right. Martin made a modification to the original truck. Maybe a module that sat in the bed or sat in place of the bed. Also, there are two sockets one on each axle for mounting something. It appears what ever it is it can be removed quickly. Hope that helps.
Thanks for responding.

Re: Data Plate found on frame-back driver's side
The Army Missle Command is what makes me think an M506. They were used just for Missle maintainance. Would also make sense if the Martin Co was as in Lockheed Martin.
Re: Data Plate found on frame-back driver's side
That is probably as close as we can get. I can't find any data on contract number etc so I'll have the plate restored and put it back where I found it. Thanks for your help. That's the cool thing about restoring these trucks. Some things we will never know.
Thanks
Thanks

GM Guided Missile?
Re: Data Plate found on frame-back driver's side
I tried checking Tm9-500 and Wikipedia. It looks like it was a crane mounted on the truck. Martin only had 3 missile contracts in the 1960's. It may be related to the Lacrosse system.
