ringgear
can I get the ring gear and flywheel out without pulling the engine if so how it looks rather complicated,my starter is clashing every once in a while ,and the teeth on the ring gear have some wear on a few teeth ,any help would be appreciated thanks everyone ...jack

You need to find out why the clashing is taking place. Most often it is a starter issue; either with the drive, incorrectly adjusted drive engagement linkage, or a wrong starter has been installed. If you have a 12-volt conversion using a starter from a civilian power wagon, it is not compatible. I've seen this issue cause clashing leading to irreparable damage more than any other, and some of the top vendors sell them saying they work just fine, horse feathers. NAPA has one that works if yours is 12-volt, only replacement I've found.
