spring shackel turned upside down for more hight
if i was to unbolt or cut the rivits to the the rear spring shakel and lift the frame and turn the shakel upside down would it work to raise the truck. it looks like the same bolt pattern .you wouldnt even have to take it off the sping just turn it to meet the bolt pattern thanks
M-Straight
JYD - you may want to post over on the powerwagon site, they tend to modify M's more so than this site from what I have found. My observations of this site is it is more dedicated to "straight M's." This may explain the number of hits with no response(?).
I hadn't replied because I haven't been able to get out to the garage and do some measuring. Without having done so, I can't say whether or not it would have the desired results.
That said, though, I wouldn't recommend it. The design engineers (usually) know what they're doing and it was very likely designed the way it is for a reason. Another thing to consider is that the rivets that hold the shackle hangers on are a much tighter fit than any bolts you might use to replace them after performing the modification. They wouldn't be a "press fit" in the holes and that tiny bit of "wiggle room" could cause them to be sheared off if the nuts loosened even just a little bit.
