VIN Numbers

Post by SACTRAINEDKILLER »

I just bought a M37, but I am having trouble registering it. The registry in NH wants the VIN number for the truck.

I can't find it anywhere on the vehicle. The previous owner died, so I can't ask him. Does anyone know where I can find the VIN on the M37?

being a military vehicle it will not have a VIN number. You should be able to register it by the serial number which is how I did it and every one else I know. The serial will be in a few locations on the truck. Data plates if they're still there will have the serial number, but the frame number is what they really want and that is located in front of the steering box on the frame. May have to wire brush it a bit, but the frame number doesn't lie
Here's a pic of the data plate

Hi SAC,

Welcome aboard. Like Tbone said, the SN you want in located on the frame, driver's side behind the front tire. It looks like this, but some are stamped fainter than others.....so don't take a grinder to the frame....wire brush only if you don't see it. You don't want to destroy this number.

regards,
bob
