engine color
my M engine after I cleaned it ,is a light gray,is that a factory color? ,the truck has all the 24 volt system taken out when I go it,so don't know anything g about the engine history.anybody have any input on this ..thanks Jack
Re: engine color
Mine seems to be a silver color, under the grease. That is the color I repaint parts (cylinder head and brackets) as I work on them. Many of the bolt on parts seem to be olive green though.
Re: engine color
Hi macibell,
The gray you're seeing is probably well worn silver. The M37 engine was originally painted silver by Dodge on the assembly line, as ZG can confirm. The paint code is P4529148 and available from a variety of sources. Even Chrysler still sells it in spray cans as Mopar Performance Enamel Engine Paint P4529148, available from Summit Racing, Jeggs, and anyone who sells Mopar stuff. Google it for the lowest price or to see who else sells a match for it.
regards,
bob

Re: engine color
A lot of the bolt on parts should be chassis black or semi gloss black. Generator, Oil Fill Tube, Distributor etc.
M37s are HMMWV in my world!
