how to send a PM

tried to send a PM but don't think I am doing it right,put the name in, wrote PM ,tried to send but it doesn't seem to send my message . at least I dont think it is,a little help would be much appreciated.

Find a post they've generated or responded to, click on their log on name which will open their profile. Scroll down to "Contact XYZ" and there should be a "send private message" link.

Keep in mind that the message will sit in your outbox until the person that you sent it to, opens/reads it.
