Oh boy.......a paint question.
Dave,
The "correct" paint color used by the Army from 1950 thru 1956 was Semi-Gloss OD2430. Here's the link to TM9's page.......look under Synthetic Enamel, last color chip is OD 2430. I've bought a few spray cans from these guys and the color exactly matches most of the NOS parts I have that were made in this timeframe. I'll leave it at that and see where the rest of this conversation leads.

Refit......great reply!! Of course there were a few NAVY M37s.....so battleship grey would be a viable color too. Ok, just kidding.....it's not Battleship grey, but it was grey!

Want to see what the color of you truck was, remove the black out drive light. That rubber gasket, if not removed by a previous owner will uncover paint that hasn't seen light since just before the delivery date. My M37 A 51 is painted with 24087.
The hood wasn't painted yet and is still the way I received the truck.

My 53 has the original semi gloss green on the interior of the cab, a faded brownish green on the exterior, and the entire engine compartment including wiring has been painted a pale OD green, musta been an IG Inspection pending when the engine compartment got painted. Gotta make it look good.
