Water Pump to Gen Bracket Q?

Post by knattrass »

Looking to reinstall the pump taken off and reattach the tension arm for the gen. We forgot to mark the bolts, but one had been coated in some type of caulk indicating this is the water pump bolt that also holds the arm. Obviously Bubba musta had a leak?

If so, I planned on using Charles's hi temp thread sealer but wonder if I need to be concerned because the bolt goes thru the arm and into the pump. I could not find a good description in the manual. Is this as straight forward as it seems?

I believe it is. I used thread sealer on mine during re-assembly. Remember the bent "hump" side of the generator bracket goes toward the engine so your bracket will line up with the generator. Tension the generator belt (about a 1/2" deflection) then tighten the pump bracket bolt. :)
