Bracket

Post by jim0311 »

Bracket 7346901 sub group 1804 page 300 ORD 9 SNL G-741. With this bracket in place with the slot facing forward my gas can hits it and is slanted outboard. The manual shows the bracket with the slot facing rearward but in all the pictures in photo gallery it's facing forward. Which is correct? I tend to believe the manual but I sure could use some advice.

My slot is forward. Everything lines up perfectly on my truck. If it still doesn't line up, I would look at the fender and the fender mount for the fuel can bracket to make sure there isn't an alignment issue. I can measure my truck later to see how far from the fender cowling the base sits out but it is pretty much directly below the bracket.

If you look in TM 9-8031-2, pg 34 (fig 12) and pg 313 (Fig 181) they show the bracket mounted with the slot facing forward.
