m37 windshield installation

I am having my 2 windshield s cut at a glass shop,my question is ,is there a special tape that goes around the glass before install or do I fill it with silicone or is there a correct rubber channel that I can buy .I haven't found the channel anywhere that I took out any ideas,I'm sure somebody out there has experienced this issue.appreciate any input.
