Clutch pedal return spring link?

Post by refit1701 »

My truck is missing the small link that connects the clutch pedal return spring to the pin on the linkage. Does anyone know how long it is? This is a piece of metal that fits over the pin and has a smaller hole in the other end for the end of the spring to fit through. We made one yesterday but I think it will take a 20 ton bottle jack to stretch the spring enough to get the spring hooked on it. Ours is about an inch from the center of each hole.

After what ive been through over the weekend.........I would have taken my work confusion any time this week...............Not a problem, glad to help out.

With that extra 1/4" maybe you only need a 10 ton jack  :D

That spring is strong! The link we made is real close to the size of yours and when we initially tried to get the spring on, it seemed like we were trying to move the entire truck. So some ingenuity will be required and a prayer that we don't have to take it loose ever again.
