I am not an electrician,but I am willing to try, my m37 s harness is frayed and a lot of loose wires I want to replace it,where do I find a good as close to original as possible,esy to install wire loom with good tech support.I know it expensive but its has to be cheaper than replacing a burned to the ground toy.and does the bed have to come off to put it in,any help out there...appreciate all the info so far.....thanks jack

Vintage Wiring of Maine has probably the easiest to use harness, fully customizeable based on stock. I.e. addition of turn signals, fog lights etc. Probably your best bet. I'll be wiring mine on my own and the easiest way to do that is to fully remove the existing wiring harness and lay down new wires to match if you can pull it out. Bed can stay on, but you have to get under it so taking it off would make things much easier with less laying on your back...

I think the most popular aftermarket wiring manufacturer is Vintage Wiring of Maine. You're right.........it's gonna be expensive, but I think people on here have used their stuff and had good results.

Doing the same thing with Vintage Wiring of Maine on our 53 right now. We've not gone very far but the set looks pretty complete.

I got mine from them for my 53 and it was plug and play pretty much. Quality workmanship and they even put a lead into the harness from my add on siren ! Highly recommend them and yes it beats the hell out of those "under dash" fires !

Something to remember, if your main harness is shot, look at the wires from your headlight, blackout light, front marker lights, rear tail lights -- stop, and blackout, horn button. The front and rear harness has the connectors up to the point where your fixtures I mentioned go, then you need the wiring from that connection to the lamps, horn, etc.

Jeff Smith made some good stuff. I had gotten a M416 and an M105 trailer harness from him and a friend of mine got a M151 harness. Correct all the way around. I wish he was still in business to give Vintage Wire some competition.
